Organization
effectiveness can be improved through organization development. Organization
Development (OD) is a way for organizations to improve the way they
fulfill their mission. Much the same way humans grow and develop, so
do organizations. To survive and be successful organizations must be
able to adapt and respond to tomorrow’s challenges today. OD is
a planned process to bring about that change, to establish,
and maintain a competitive edge.
While there are numerous OD strategies to improve organization effectiveness,
TT&D focuses on four key methods: action research, meeting facilitation,
strategic planning, and team building. Firmly rooted in established behavioral
science theory and methods, all of our services involve the client
in assessing and understanding the current situation. Our clients work
with us to identify opportunities for change that correspond to their desired
results.
Action Research
Action research is a three-step facilitated process by which client
organizations attempt to study their problems scientifically in order
to guide, adjust, and evaluate their decisions and actions. The hallmark
of this form of consulting is experimenting with ideas in practice as
a way of improving performance. TT&D uses a survey called the Group
Development Questionnaire (GDQ)TM to assess the strengths and weaknesses
of an organization or specific work units. The GDQ, firmly based in
psychological research, accurately measures group effectiveness and
productivity. Once the assessment phase has been completed, we then
work with our clients to develop effective strategies to address the
results generated. In the third phase of this process, we provide support
for the ongoing efforts of all participants.
Meeting Planning and Facilitation
We work with people to improve the effectiveness of meetings and to
navigate the journey towards a cohesive group that produces pre-determined
results. Our skilled facilitators neutrally manage the process of group
discussion by providing the structure and methods for participation
and accomplishment. We are able to keep group members focused by listening
to the interactions and summarizing for group members. Our interventions
are put in such a way that the group can use them to set goals, make
plans, make decisions and solve problems.

organization is, what it does, and why it does it, with a focus on the
future.

targeted goals, commitment among key stakeholders toward those goals,

Team Development
The process by which groups of people develop and improve working relationships
and functions is known as team development. It is a process designed to
help members distinguish the impact of group dynamics with regards to
effective teamwork and provides a forum to develop strategies and skills
to improve team performance. TT&D consultants use variations of
action research to ensure positive team development. We partner with
clients to help them understand the dynamics of teams, leadership and
its effect on the pursuit of organizational goals. Our interventions
are designed to specifically address client’s unique team needs.
